gender asylum.
Family
Law and Immigrant Victims
Sponsored by the Immigrant Women Program of Legal Momentum, this list
serve is for domestic violence and family law attorneys and advocates
working
with
immigrant survivors of domestic violence,
sexual assault and trafficking who seeking help from the family courts
or who are parties in family court proceedings. The list serve covers
a full range of family court issues immigrant victims encounter particularly
when seeking protection orders, custody, child support and divorce.
Topics discussed also include the intersection between family law and
immigration law issues. Legal services providers are encouraged to
join.

serve is for advocates and attorneys helping immigrant victims of domestic

sexual assault and trafficking access
public benefits, health care and the full range of victim services.
Topics discussed include immigrant victim access to TANF, Medicaid,
SCHIP, health care, state based benefits, child care, Food Stamps,
housing,
shelter and crime victim assistance. Listserve participants learn strategies
for accompanying immigrant victims applying for benefits and services
and for filing complaints and appeals when immigrant victims are turned
away from or denied benefits and services for which they or their children
